Properly installed, decades. The failures we get called to fix are almost always installation rather than product - panels nailed tight so they cannot expand, which splits at the fasteners after a couple of winters, or house wrap that was never lapped to drain.

It is a big part of it. Ice dams come from heat escaping into the attic, melting snow that then refreezes at the cold eave. Vented soffit is the intake half of the airflow that keeps the roof deck cold. Insulation is the other half, and we will tell you honestly which one your house needs.

Often closely, rarely perfectly, and we will say which before starting. Siding fades over decades and profiles get discontinued. Sometimes the better answer is taking panels off a hidden elevation to patch a visible one.
